Domain Auctions Aren’t What They Used to be!
Well domains sure are going for bargain basement prices these days. I just saw Cats.net finish at Sedo for $7,000, which in my opinion is a fantastic deal for the buyer, but not so great for the seller.
I myself have Raw.Biz on auction at Sedo and with 9 hours to go the bid is only $410 - now sure this isn’t business.com, but i would have thought things would be a little higher by now. still that’s the risk you take when you push to auction.
I think the cats.net sale is a further bearish signal to domain values - especially .net - which seems to have been hit harder than the other extensions.
If anyone is interested in Raw.Biz, Please visit Sedo by clicking on the big blue banner at the top of the site.

Cats.net for $7k has got to be a joke. Otherwise an incredible steal for the buyer.
It was sold by a domainer… Good deal for both buyer/seller.
Average sales prices are definitely going down. However sales volume is going up. So net-net we are fine. This, I believe, may well be a permanent shift in the marketplace.
Well Raw.Biz just finished the auction for $410 - which i think is a pretty pitiful amount. I’ll still make a small profit after fees though - but this tells me this definately isn’t a time to be selling your domains.
Sam - What leads you to believe this is a permanent shift in the marketplace? The economic troubles we are experiencing aren’t permanent. Or do you just mean these conditions could be around for some time?
