Marketplace for Minisites - New Site Just Launched
I saw a very interesting post by Frankie over at SkyDomains.com yesterday. He had previously posted about minisites he was developing, but soon decided his efforts would be better served by focusing on one or two larger sites.
One of these is Vowels.Me – basically it’s a marketplace for minisite developers that is similar to Guru.com. What happens is you post your site and what you’re looking for and then minisite developers bid for the job. Sounds simple – and it is. I think it’s about time something like this was setup as we all know how many minisite offers there are currently circulating the domaining community (aeiou, sitegraduate, estibot, etc, etc…) – actually I’m having a site put up by sitegraduate.com and will report on the whole process.
SoWill it work – who knows? I certainly like the idea and think Frankie could be onto something – it all depends how it’s rolled out and presented to Domainers and Developers. I think a generous affiliate program and good landing pages could see this really take off.
There aren’t any bids for jobs at the time of this post – but I’ve bookmarked the site and will be checking back in the future.
