Leonard & Robbie - i think they've low balled everyone out there.
GUA - i know - i've done my fair share of low balling - i don't like the medicine when it's given to me though :0)

Just had aother one come in - but this post seems to have sparked something, and i've just closed 2 nice sized deals. I can reveal what they are at a later date.

For some reason, $10 and $20 seem to be a pretty popular number when it comes to domain offers for me. I agree, 2 character domains do attract a good deal of those kinds of offers. I'm sure 3 letter .com offers are similar.

I also reply to all offers no matter what they are. You just never know!

I agree with you, one should always reply to an email received. I can speak for myself when i say this, i've tried to sell domains with some companies and brokers, some of them didn't reply to me, i never contacted them again, because i believe good education is essencial in anything anywhere. I had others that even when they're not interested, they always answered me back, well with those i keep contact and good business relationships are being built, education makes all the difference in the world to me. ( I don't know if in english education is also applied to being polite like in portuguese, or if it's just school education, but i was talking about being polite )

About low offers, i can't help, but to laugh hard in the "domains wanted" section of any forum, when i see some guys saying that they want an old dot com domain, with a bunch of backlinks, with high PR, huge traffic, and it has to be a single generic word, and they're offering $30 for it, and they claim that they're being generous.

I just think to myself, where do these guys Live? Is it pure ignorance (that's understandable) or is it being a smart ass? thinking other people are stupid? And i get amazed when i see people replying that they've sent a pm. Assuming those people really have what's being asked, are they really gonna sell a good domain for that low price?

About Buydomains, well they seem to think they can buy any domain a little bit above reg fee, but it's not their fault, it's our (domainers) fault, because we sell it to them, i already refused an offer from them, months ago.

Yes, I recall over the summer hearing that BuyDomains was aggressively acquiring domain portfolios so I thought I'd see what they would offer. They were only interested in a small portion of my portfolio and with one exception were only offering around $20 per domain. Aggressive, huh? One of those domains I sold for $1500 (plus $500 for the .net) a few months later. Another name I had previously received an offer of $800 on but didn't accept it. Time to do some more marketing...
